The pastry on these has a nice firm texture, but the flavour is a tiny bit sickly. The filling has a full, fruity, tangy taste, and there is plenty of it, but the texture is a bit... gritty? These should be very good pies, but minor flaws make them a bit off-putting. 3 out of 5. (Palm oil)

The Aldi Specially Selected look more appetising than the Asda Joyous, though i think the photo on the packaging here is false advertising, unless they grow in the oven.

DeleteAldi do a mince pie with cocoa covered rice puffs on top. If that's not sweet enough they do those with a sugar dusting.
