How time-consuming is it to draw something like the guy in the last picture, with all the rocky plates? Because I've thought about trying to do a sketch of The Thing, but I know I'd get bored halfway (or more likely, one-third) of the way through.
The drawing didn't take too long, but the colouring took a very long time and I did find my attention drifting a bit about three-quarters of the way through. I made it more difficult on myself by using a number of different tones, but it was worth it in the end.
