Always Daring and Courageous
Although I was just about the right age for it, for some reason Star Fleet/X-Bomber passed me by. Which is a shame, as it spawned glorious stuff like this, from Brian "Badgers" May and Eddie "Van Halen" Van Halen:
I had this robot toy in the 80s growing up in Hong Kong. Think it detached into several different vehicles, as they all did back then, and maybe shot yellow missiles from its chest?
STAR FLEET STAR FLEET That was catchy as hell, and I love the double-guitar solo.
And I love that the evil (?) puppet person at 0:42 wears a helmet that has a "theater mask" over its left eye - very meta... (I mean, it would be interesting if the left eye of the theater mask had a theater mask, and so on...)

ReplyDeleteI had no idea about the TV programme until a few years ago, so I have even less of an idea about the toys, although I would not be at all surprised.

It's great isn't it? It makes me want to watch the series, but I suspect it isn't as fun as the theme tune.
