I would not want to see that coming down the hallway at me, although the long neck makes me think you could treat it like a paddleball if you were carrying a tennis racket of something similar. Assuming the arms didn't grab you first.
That spindly neck seems silly and harmless at first but then there are some lovely creepy descriptions of it "working" in the book.
Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I picture all the ways it could get you from unexpected angles.
