Last of the Time Lords

Copying Vader's funeral from Return of the Jedi, shot for shot, was a bit too cute, even for me, but otherwise... crikey that was a good episode of Who.

Wowsers.

  2. I just didn't enjoy John Simm as the Master, sorry :( Not creepy enough.

  3. I can't say I enjoyed it. What with how the Master was defeated (Oh good lord that was crap) and the revelation about Jack souring any awesome that was radiated by John Simm. And that was a great deal of awesome, I can assure you.

RTD should really be strung up by his figgin.

  4. Yikes.

Now I've not been a fan of RTD's episodes in general. I can't say I liked many of the stories he wrote for the first two series (if any, actually), but I've been surprised by how good his episodes in this series have been. The weakest was Smith and Jones, and even that was pretty strong.

And I really liked the Jack Revelation, although I've noted that the internet's in uproar about it. ;)

  5. I'll not join in that internet uproar... did hate the Jack/Boe nonsense though. Sort of didn't care for the whole episode really. The EPIC last episodes are wearing thin now, and if you're thinking at the start that they're going to cop out at the end and undo all the bad happenings then it's pretty hard to get caught up with what's happening.
Still, nice to see the Master ends up turning into Ming.

  6. Yeah, I wonder if that was a deliberate nod to Flash Gordon, but RTD seems like the type who'd love that film.

  7. Well, it was a big gay chocolate box of a film:) I loved it!

  8. Yes, I wouldn't want to stereotype the gay community, but Flash Gordon is a fabulous film! ;)

    One of my faves, certainly.
