Love Hurts

My theory is that Hurt is the Ninth Doctor, the one who ended the Time War, and because of his actions the others would like to forget about him and count Eccleston's incarnation as the Ninth. Sort of like Pope John XX only with time travel.

  1. Especially as Clara made a point of saying the current Doctor was "the eleventh".

Me, being not so bright, thought he was the man/Gallifreyan who became The First Doctor - ie he was running away because of something he had done that then caused him to regenerate.

But I prefer your fan-baiting idea of squeezing in an extra Doctor between Paul McGann and Chris Ecclestone.

  2. I like that idea.

Maybe I wasn't paying attention, which is entirely possible, but I thought he was the final Doctor who caused all the desolation that took place at the grave sight, since they emphasized how much worse that final event was compared to all that had come before.

    1. I don't think he was a future Doctor, if only because Clara didn't see any other future Doctors in the Quantum Leap Accelerator. He could be, but I don't think so.

    2. I'm sure you're right. It's just none of the previous Doctors had any trouble owning up to the guilt of the Time War, and there was such emphasis put on that final battle and damage done that I just assumed it was the last Doctor.

    3. It's a fair point. Nine and Ten were always moaning about their involvement in the Time War and Eleven even boasted about it, so if the Forgotten Doctor is forgotten because of what he did in the conflict, it's a bit inconsistent.
