The pastry is soft and almost chewy, which I thought I would dislike but it's quite a pleasant texture. It is VERY sweet, to the point that it overpowers the filling completely, and makes my teeth tingle. 2.5 out of 5. #MincePieFest2023 #MincePieADay
It sounds like, compared to the review from last year, they cheaped out more on the filling, and tried to compensate by adding more sugar to the pastry.
ReplyDeleteI have noticed that I am tending towards lower marks this year. It's always difficult to tell if my tastes are changing with each year, or if the recipes are different, or if I'm overcompensating in my scoring!
