Look, mummy, look at all the glittery sugar!
The filling has an almost savoury flavour that is quite interesting, but the taste fades quickly, and alas is steamrollered into oblivion by the FOUR TONNES of sugar on the pastry. It's feasible that there are other flavours in the crust, but my inferior taste buds couldn't detect them under ALL OF THE SUGAR IN THE WORLD.

I dunno...I'm kinda of the attitude that there are very few desserts that can't be helped by another layer of sugar.

I don't have much of a sweet tooth, which makes this whole enterprise a bit of a joke, but there it is.
