PLOT TWIST!!!
These are not as good as they were last year! The pastry is soft and crumbly, which is good, but then there's a hint of saltiness, which is less good, although I imagine that will please the salted caramel crowd. The filling has lots of zesty flavour, but lacks the boozy hit of 2020's variety, and it's a bit dry.
To my considerable surprise, Tesco Finest* pies get 3.5 out of 5.
